Honoring Our Veterans
Situated near the Valley Public Library on the town’s main street, the design of this park includes a circular mall with the United States flag at the center and memorials to each of the six branches of the armed services (each with its own service flag) on the perimeter. A memorial wall honors the service men and women of Valley whose lives were given in the course of duty. This park will be the focal point for patriotic observances throughout the year. The lot has a gentle slope with no steps in order to make it easier for both the elderly and for parents with children in strollers to visit. There is a reflecting pool, plus a pergola-sheltered set of benches. Landscaping is designed to provide natural solitude for visitors.
